Returning from hibernation

It's been over a year since I last posted, and a lot has changed!

In 2014 I spent 4 months in Philadelphia, 6 months in New Hampshire and 2 months in Boston. I then spent January 2015 travelling the US - Washington D.C., New York, Disney World, Universal Studios, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Las Vegas, San Francisco.

I spent 2015 back home in Brisbane, and finished my 3rd year of my Education degree. I only have one year left, and I am so not ready to graduate and have to start full time work... so in September I had an interview with Janet from Disney World... and I am currently writing to you from my apartment in Vista Way, Orlando, Florida!

I'm going to be working in Operations, which basically means I could be anywhere doing anything! Carpark, Parade management, Ushering, or working on a ride. I'm super excited to find out where I'll be working and start training!

I didn't have a strong preference about which apartment complex I wanted to live in, they all have their pros and cons, but my roommate really firmly did not want to live in Vista Way, which is, of course, where we ended up living! It's actually nicer than I expected, but it's definitely not as nice as some of the other complexes! On the upside, we're really close to the bus stop, all the buses stop here, and some of the first week stuff happens here! The thing I was most surprised at was how empty the apartments are - there is so much stuff I hadn't thought about but that we definitely need - like oven trays and tongs!

We're in a 3 bedroom, 6 person apartment (no bunks, yay!), but unfortunately we only have 2 bathrooms - so one bedroom has an ensuite, and the other 2 rooms share a bathroom. I was lucky enough to be the first one into the apartment, so we have our own bathroom. I imagine sharing one toilet and shower between 4 people could get annoying!

I still have my housing meeting and onboarding to go tomorrow, and then on Thursday I have traditions! My roomie is really wanting to go to Magic Kingdom first, and I'm hoping to go to the housing welcome event that night - it's France themed, and there'll be characters from Beauty & the Beast to meet!
